Applications: The FACSCanto measures up to 6 fluorescence parameters, forward light scatter, side light scatter, and can measure the pulse height, area and width of any fluorescence parameter. The FACS Canto system analyzes cells as they travel in a moving fluid stream past 2 fixed laser beams. As a cell passes in front of the lasers, several measurements are made based on the physical characteristics of the cell. These characteristics, which pertain to how the cell scatters the laser light and emits fluorescence, provide you with information about the cell’s size, internal complexity and relative fluorescence intensity(FACSCanto system User’s Guide).
